AMC AMX Javelin & others Edelbrock Performer intake manifold 1970 & later. The first two threads on all four of the outer bolt pattern for the carb are damaged. Probably because some one bolted their carb down instead of using studs. If you use studs there should not be a problem with this manifold. It is a nice part and very useful. See pic’s.
Correct way to install your carburetor, is to have studs in place, then the gasket, then with the butterfly’s all in the wide open position snug down the nuts, (with washers). Then torque the nuts down using the cross, (kitty corner) pattern. Then make sure your butterfly’s move freely in all positions. Primaries, and secondary’s.
